InstillDesign is an initiative of UsabilityMatters.Org(UMO). InstillDesign is a philanthropic endeavour, a movement with a vision to introduce innovation at root level and transform students realise their hidden creativity and potential to innovate. Drive visible innovation, drive new businesses by creating products and services that could shape into brands for the world.
Our Mission
Our mission is to re-instill creativity and innovation in education. We at UMO also believe that innovation programs enhancing creativity will inherently affect majors like engineering, technology and management by default.
The Goal
InstillDesign aims to drive the design message to students pursuing any discipline by penetrating deeper into educational institutes across all regions. We set out to do this by conducting design related events, workshops festivals regularly and instill design values gradually. We encourage all professionals and students who are spirited to drive the message forward by leading in conducting workshops, giving talks and lectures, sharing about their experiences and world views on design.
Why InstillDesign?
Why was Leonardo-Da-Vinci such a great painter, inventor, chemist, biologist, mathematician and above all a great thinker?
Today a big question usually haunts students in engineering colleges. What should be my project topic and what value add do I make to the world of engineering and technology? They end up taking something that’s already been done by their seniors for the sole purpose of completing them on time or the risk of failure. However mashing up different technologies together and looking at them from different domain perspective can achieve a lot. And that’s what differentiated Da-Vinci.
With intervention of Design thinking and lateral thinking process we’ll shed light on how to select and explore an innovative project. We will share the secret recipe of coming up with an innovative product and gives hands on bringing them alive.
How it works
It is very simple. We need two classrooms with audio visual equipment. Motivated and highly spirited faculty and students can form as a group to organize the event. Duration of the workshop would be 2 days. UMO sends two professionals who are well qualified in the fields of design at major institutes like IITs,NIDs etc and working at top MNCs like Microsoft, Pramati, Cognizant etc.

- Finalize the workshop dates
- UMO hosts the event website
- Mentors come to your college and conduct the workshop
