National Workshop for Students and Professionals

TechEase is a first of its kind workshop in INDIA which brings together Technology, Design, Architecture, Visual Arts & Management students to look through each others’ perspective to understand Usability & User Interface design which is a necessity to excel in the industry.

TechEase is an annual Workshop held in collaboration with IIITH and UsabilityMatters.Org(UMO. This National level workshop aims to bring together students from the Technology, Engineering, Design, Management, Architecture, and Visual Arts domains from all over India.

The participants get to engage in a series of activities, lectures and workshops over three days with the focus to gain an insight into Usability and User Interface Design. The TechEase encourages the user-centered approach to design, and enable the participants to empathize with user’s perspective.

What is Usability & UI Design?

Usability is about how to do the best designs for computers, mobile communication devices, software applications, appliances, machines, and web sites so that users are able to enjoy their experience and interaction with them. The goal of user interface design is to make the user's interaction as simple and efficient as possible
What is TechEase?

TechEase is a first of its kind workshop in INDIA which brings together Technology, Design, Architecture, Visual Arts & Management students to look through each others’ perspective to understand Usability & User Interface design which is a necessity to excel in the industry.
Who should attend?

Students from India of any discipline, in the final or pre-final year of Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, Visual Arts, Management etc. Interested industry professionals are also welcome.
Why should students attend?

You’ll leave with new ideas, creative thinking, design methodologies, presentation skills, practical to-do tips. Knowledge to create usable designs. Speakers are world-class experts from MICROSOFT, Cordys, Convergys etc.

About UMO

UMO stands for UsabilityMatters.Org, that is a non-profit organization working towards design awareness and exchange of design sensibilities through interaction between designers and design sensitive consumers. It is a forum dedicated to discussing, improving and promoting the work of the Usability and Interaction design community in India. Here you can find bad designs, make-do design inventions (jugaad), feel good concepts and other Design and Usability related stuff.

Programs like UXINDIA, iInnovate and Techease are aimed at bringing industry knowledge and skills to the professionals and academics. Instill Design inspires students from various streams in thinking around UX and social change
