Shamit Shrivastav, Pune, India

The footrest in a cycle rickshaw is at a level where it is difficult for the passenger to climb over.

Also there is nothing to hold on to while climbing and one has to climb with the help of another person or by holding the seat of the driver.

Also, I have personally seen these cycle rickshaws toppling down if driven very fast and then applied sudden brakes.

The rickshaw is a popular medium of travel in India. The design issue raised here is elementary but critical. Solving this issue would reduce user effort and increase accessibility.
