All the news channels have their unique website design and to attract more and more users they keep adding new elements in their website.

Bad Designs

But there is an element which is common to all websites and that is time. Time displayed in a specific format conveys the information properly, but since these sites are independent, they follow their own time formats which are usually confusing.

Hence it is a bad design because:

1. No standard format followed to display standard elements of news.
2. There is no AM or PM indication
3. There is no Proper placement followed for Date and Time in the website.
4. Different notations used which are usually alien to general users (like IST)

For example:

Here is the Date Time Display from Various news providers...

The Times of India

NDTV

The Hindu
No display on Recent updated date and time.
But there is a mouse over popup display to show recent date and time.
