Wheel Lock
Lokesh Krishnamurthy
From a functionality point of view the wheel lock for bicycles is a low security device as it does not lock the cycle with a stationary object, but merely prevents the rear wheel of the cycle from rotating. For a vehicle as light as a cycle the protection is minimal.
From a usability point of view he lock is usually (not in all the cases, but most) placed at an awkward angle, that forces the user to bend over and spot the keyhole to open the lock. The second part of the problem is the profile of the keyhole and the small ring near the top part of the keyhole. This ring changes its orientation frequently and the user has to fumble every time to orient it and then insert the key.
