Olden days mostly floppy disks are used for storing purpose.Due to lack of storage memory the floppy disks are exhausted. so if there is an increase in the storage memory very useful and secure to maintain the backup of the data.

Another advantage is read/write can be performed and low cost compared with read/writable cd's.
