Taps, Flush and Toilet Doors in Public Places
Kamesh Somalanka, Hyderabad, India
In Indian scenario, most of the people prefer to use water in toilets. But in public toilets, in toilets at railway stations or at the bus stations it is unhygienic to use flush, mugs or even the soap bar with hands.
Using taps, flush or doors with dirty hands makes it very uncomfortable for the people who follow. People avoid the usage of these as much as possible for hygiene purpose.
Can we have taps and flushes designed in such a way that they can be operated with feet?
While using public toilets, especially in India one would not like to open the door on his way out with the hands at least. The doors are designed in such a way that they have to be operated with hands. Designing for feet is possibly a better alternative.
