Laptop heat producing components

In every laptop heat producing components like processor, RAM chips (even fan-open in some laptops)are kept in the bottom.
So we cant hold the laptops on our lap for long time because it directly heats up our lap. And if we keep our laptop pc over any surface then the ventilation is blocked leaving no place to exhaust the heat. If we pack all the heating components in back of the screen then there is a open space to exhaust the heat. causing no Harm to body.
