In memoriam of the lost lives
Miklós Ferencz, Netherlands

I've created this poster to represent my respect and sorry for those who died on the catastrophe in Japan. Also, with this poster I tend to make people aware that death is a loss. We loose an individual respective.
The black background represents mourning, and the opposite of white, referring to the Japanese flag. On the middle of the poster the circle represents the symbol of the Japanese nation. The many hearts, which amount creates the circle is the key to my message. Every heart is different, this directs to the idea, that every human being is a different individual. The hearts are shown only with their stroke. They are not filled in, they are empty now, like skeletons of dead bodies. It's forcing us to confront the soreness what this nation can feel now. The color of the circle, or the hearts are transitional, starting from white to red (from top to down), which has to refer as a symbolic meaning of hope, of constant changing. Life has to go on.
